Gekko kuhli is a species of lizard in the Gekkonidae family. The species is found in Southeast Asia.
The specific name, kuhli, is in honor of the German zoologist Heinrich Kuhl.
G. kuhli has skin adaptations, such as flaps on both sides of the body, webbed feet, and a flattened tail, to allow it to glide short distances. The flaps of skin along the sides help it blend in with the tree bark. Often his eyes are the only way to distinguish him from his surroundings. Despite being nocturnal, they are considered heliothermic due to the prolonged sun exposure they receive while resting during the day. This increased exposure to UV rays led to the adaptation of pigmented internal organs to protect the lizards' most important organs from radiation damage.
Like many other gecko species, it has developed intricate toe pads with microscopic hairs that can stick to almost any surface, including glass.
