Family: Megachilidae.
Common name: The Giant Resin bee, Leafcutting Bee or Sculptured Resin Bee.
Syn. Chalicodoma sculpturalis, Lithurgus sculpturalis.

Megachile (Callomegachile) sculpturalis (Smith, 1853) is an apoid hymenoptera of the Megachilidae family. It is a rather large solitary bee for its family, measuring between 13 and 25 mm.
The insect is black in color with yellow hair on the thorax. The species is native to the Far East (China and Japan), but has recently been colonizing the eastern coast of the United States of America, and is also present in Canada, in Ontario. Furthermore, it is also spreading in Europe and especially in Italy.
