Eurygaster testudinaria Insect Jewel Metallic Shield-Backed Bug Hemipterus Rhyncota Heteroptera Scutelleridae.
Common name: Tortoise Bug.
Family: Scutelleridae.


It is a paleartic shield-bug. The species is found in northern Europe from the Mediterranean up to the north of China's southern and eastern Scandinavia through Central Asia and Japan.
The nymphs feed on grasses herbs Poaceae family between May and August, becoming adults starting in July. Previously uncommon, it is now widespread in the south of Great Britain and Ireland in the wet and dry grassy areas, expanding northward.
