Meloe proscarabaeus female, cm 3-3.5 Insect Coleopter Blister Beetle Meloidae.
Family: Meloidae.

It lives in meadows, margins of cultivated fields and other hot places throughout the European continent excluding the north.
Eggs are laid in the ground by the females. At the moment the larvae are similar to ground fish and climb on a flower and wait for a solitary bee to arrive. With their well-developed claws, the larvae attach to the bee and let them carry to the nest. Here you can eat eggs from bees, pollen and nectar. During this phase, the paws almost atrophic, almost disappearing into the phase immediately preceding the transformation into a pupa. The larvae bloom in the bee's nest, and leave it to look for a partner for reproduction right after.
