Common name: Jungle Jade.
Syn: Papilio discordia.


Papilio karna (C. & R. Felder, 1864) is a species of swallowtail butterfly (family Papilionidae) found in Java, Sumatra, Borneo and the Philippines.
The wingspan is about 10-13 cm. The butterfly is black with a large turquoise area with two red eyes dominating the hind wing, provided with the tail. This butterfly is very similar to Papilio paris.
The flight period is from March to April.
