Charaxes lucretius intermedius one wing lenght cm 3.5-4 Insect Tropical Brush-Footed or Four-Footed Butterfly Nymphalid Nymphalidae. Common name: The Violet-Washed Charaxes or Common Red Charaxes. Syn. Papilio lucretius, Charaxes cynthia. It is a butterfly in the Nymphalidae family. It is found in Senegal, Guinea, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe, Gabon, the Republic of the Congo, Angola, the Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. The habitat consists of primary forests. Both sexes are attracted to fermenting fruit, but males are also attracted to animal droppings.
