Pleasant fossil find of Penaeoidea shrimp from the late Cretaceous, representative collection specimen of excellent quality, with clear and appreciable details of the cephalothrace, abdomen, legs and antennae perfectly preserved.
The fossil was restored and consolidated to better highlight parts of the Crustacean profile and anatomical segments, which would otherwise have been invisible following fossilization in the sediment.
Unique piece, as in the photo.

Carpopenaeus is an extinct genus of crustaceans belonging to the suborder Dendrobranchiata. This shrimp is found mainly in rocks from periods between the Upper Jurassic and the Cretaceous.
The genus Carpopenaeus is known for four species:
Carpopenaeus callirostris;
Carpopenaeus longirostris;
Carpopenaeus peterbuergeri;
Carpopenaeus septemspinatus;
Very well known are the Carpopenaeus callirostris, in excellent condition, coming from Hajula and the Hakel formation, in Lebanon (Cenomanian, Upper Cretaceous).
