Tellina is a genus of marine bivalve molluscs, of the Tellinidae family, order Cardiida.
Commonly known as clams, tellins or tellens, they live quite deep in soft sediments in shallow seas and breathe using long siphons that reach the surface of the sediment.
Tellinids have round or oval, elongated, very flattened shells, with the two valves connected by a large external ligament. Their fossils have been found all over the world.
