In this catalog we have included all the accessories of the "perfect naturalist"... Joking aside, we hope you'll find here everything useful for your collections, breedings or naturalistic preparations. Here are some examples of articles you could find:
- A set of containers, to preserve or to expose, according your exigences and preferences, insects and every other item (fossils, shells, minerals, etc.). And in particular:
- transparent cellophane boxes of different measures, also with the bottom in polystyrene (to fix your specimen with the classic entomological pin).
- transparent plexiglas boxes of different measures. As all other containers, the plexiglas boxes can be used, besides that for insects, also to contain or to fix minerals, fossils, corals, shells and other, with glue or the more practical plasticine that we provide you in this catalog.
- open white folding cardbords in which preserve minerals, fossils or shells to better order and catalog the pieces of your collection.
- magnifying glass-boxes (lens included in the lid), enterely in transparent plexiglas to show better the details of your little pieces (for ex. an insect in amber included or a gem).
- display boxes of various kinds of glass and wooden where you can pin and move at pleasure, insects or other animals. You can order them empty, for your collection, or together the chosen specimen from our catalogs.
There are available 4 models of entomological display boxes, each of 3 different sizes:
- Model A (Museum): These are essentially used by museums and collectors. Made in ramin wood dark or light (this last only on order), they are composed of two interlocking pieces, airtight and with the bottom covered with plastozote, preferred to polystyrene or polyurethane because it resists at conserving substances (paradichlorinebenzol melts the polystyrene!). In this case the measures are standard commonly used in museums.
- Model B (white): made in wooden, lined in paper-leather, they are airtight with the bottom covered with plastozote, too. The manifacture is simplified and craft, also suitable for non-professional amateurs who wish to start a collection or simply expose a single butterfly in their living room.
- Model C (brown): As above, change the color, available in 3 different sizes.
- Model D (beige): As above, change the color, available in 3 different sizes.
All these boxes can also be used to preserve specimens of shells, fossils and minerals of small or medium size.
OUT OF PROCUCTION:
painted display boxes and paper-leather covered display boxes.
The first boxes have the openable bottom (not airtight), covered with polystyrene in white paper (or optionally squared), to align better the small specimen); the second boxes have the openable bottom (not airtight), covered with polyurethane in white paper and an outer cover in paper-leather. We specify that these two kinds of frames aren't suitable, for resistance and kind of closing, to contain heavy or voluminous items, like shells, fossils or minerals. Both these boxes are manufactured only on order. At our discretion the request may not be accepted depending on work commitments. Handicraft: it can slight imperfections (cracks or geometric inaccuracies).
- books of naturalistic interest (botany, mineralogy, paleontology, zoology);
- chemicals and preservatives such as acetone, salicylic acid, alum, borax, camphor, charcoal, creosote beech, ethyl acetate, formaldehyde, mixture tanning naphthalene, paradiclorobenzolo, Paraloid, hydrogen peroxide, taxidermic pomade, mummifying solution, etc.
- bottles and various equipment for entomological and taxidermic use, such as: hunting cans in plastic or metal, pillboxes, jars with cap seal, caving lamps, magnifying glasses of various types, eyepieces, plasticine, hinged metal supports, humid chambers for insects, glue, forceps, exhalators for entomological boxes, entomological pins (identified by a number, increasing according diameter and lenght); finally you'll find various kinds of supports of metal or plastic fork-shaped, ring, square, adjustable or tiered, and wooden tripod for your pieces which you want to emphasize better.
- At last, we have also some useful items for breeding: artificial dens for small reptiles or other animals, terrarium-acquarium (fauna-boxes) in plastic or in glass, with cover and air grating, materials to use like substratum to breed your small animals, like insects, spiders, reptiles, snails, or millepedes.
Like for every category, our catalogs are subject to frequent revision, therefore you often come back to visit us if you are searching for novelties.
And now... happy shopping!
